Microbe-Lift's Barley Straw Concentrated Extract is used to prevent the growth of string and blanket algae.  Simply pour it in and the enzymes from the concentrated barley extract goes to work to retard the growth of the algae.  It works fine as a preventative for string algae but does not get rid of green water algae.  To kill the string algae that is present use AlgaeFix (Product #169). 

Dosing is easy with specially designed bottles.  An 8 oz. bottle treats 6250 gallons on a maintenance basis.  A 16 oz. bottle treats 12,500 gallons on a maintenance basis.  When first using this product you will need to use a start up amount (which is more than the maintenance dose) so keep that in mind when choosing the size bottle you need.
