Colored Stains and Finishes Available for
Massarelli’s Statuary

There are three ways you can order Massarelli statuary – Unfinished (aka Natural), a colored finish or Massarelli’s special Detail Finish.

Natural Unfinished
Once the statuary piece is out of the mold and dry nothing is done to enhance the finish.  It dries into a slightly grey concrete that is not sealed.  If left to its own the piece will take on a natural aging influenced by organic materials around it.  Some people love this look and prefer an unfinished product.  The unfinished piece can be finished at home with your own cement paint and treated with an overcoat designed to seal concrete if you wish. 

Massarell's warm and wonderul colors were specially formulated to enhance today's interior and exterior designs.  Our spectrum of color varies from natural to black -- with lots of sensational colors in between.   Massarelli's colors offer the perfect finishes to the perfect cast stone accents.  The Massarelli's touch is a touch of class.

Stone Finishes - Color is applied directly to the piece, letting the natural beauty of the stone come through.  This is my favorite finish grouping because it is very classic and the stone finishes have an aged appearance.  The stone finishes tend not to chip or peel, a problem sometimes seen with painted pieces.  The stone finishes are not shiny either.  They do remind you of natural stone in appearance and texture.

Base Finishes - A base color is first applied to the piece, then one or more accent colors are painted on top, creating a beautiful depth of color.  The Verdi and Bronze colors are examples of base finishes.  The blends are meant to mimic metals such as bronze and iron.  Most times the finish appears shiny adding to the illusion of a metal.

Detail Finish
Many of Massarelli’s pieces are available in the special Detail Stain.  The realistic detail stain has changed over the years from bright colors with almost a cartoonish look to a blended natural color pallet that is realistic yet classic in appeal.  Not all pieces are available in this stain.  Most animals, religious figures and children statues have this special Detail Stain option.
